Pastors Connect Zambia

Pastors Connect Zambia enables pastors in Ndola to train together, support, encourage and learn from each other and collaborate on income-generating activities to help support their families while they serve in the church.

E3’s partnership supports:

  • Spiritual support for church and community leaders and their families through the ‘Who Pastors the Pastor’ programme.

  • Leadership conferences on pastoral care, family and church administration.

  • Economic empowerment through farming projects and microfinance groups.

  • Leadership for Life training for young people which raises people’s eyes up out of the daily reality they face, helping them look to the future with hope and develop the skills needed to escape the cycle of poverty.

  • Community-based gender-based violence awareness workshops.

  • Addressing social challenges such as poverty and HIV and AIDS.

  • Grant from E3: £8,000

E3 and Pastors Connect Zambia, ran Leadership for Life workshops in Ndola and Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia, in 2024, with follow-up workshops in October 2025 for 42 young adults.

During the training, I realised that I don’t need to go to a big city to make a life for myself. I am a trained electrician so I started going around the community with my tools doing maintenance work. Soon, people began calling me. I made connections with influential people who helped me find more customers. Now, I am even doing maintenance work in primary schools and police stations. This training gave me the courage I never had before, to take a step forward and achieve the things I want to do.”

Before I would just spend money without thinking of saving to help improve my life. I decided to go back and rewrite my Grade 12 exams. My goal is to open a hair salon because I have the skill of plaiting hair. I started saving money towards opening my own salon and I plan to ask my parents to add to it. The Leadership for Life programme gave me this vision, and I am working towards it.”

We were taught to lift our heads so that we can see the future. That message really touched me, and I decided to change my way of thinking and start something. I started with K380 (£12.40) and bought two pairs of slippers and sold each pair for K250 (£8.16). From there, I continued buying and selling slippers. Now, I have managed to grow my business to K1500 (£49). I really thank Leadership for Life for what they have done for me. Before, I never took part in community activities, but now I volunteer at a local clinic and I have been selected to be a peer educator. Instead of hopeless thinking, I now have hopeful thinking.”

The follow-up workshops reminded participants of the learning, tackled key challenges and saw how they have started to release their potential and follow their dreams. Tim and Maz Walker from the UK led the first workshops but then equipped local leaders from E3 partners in Zambia to deliver the follow-up.

How you can help

Pray…

Praying for E3 partners on a regular basis brings you closer to the life-transforming work that is happening on the ground and is fundamental to our mission, helping us seek God’s wisdom and be effective in our partnerships and work.

Donate…

Your donation will go to where it is needed most or to a specific appeal like Back to School. We work hard to minimise the running costs of the charity so more of your donation goes to the work.
